Taiwan Part 1 - Itinerary and Info

First time leaving the country and my first attempt of documenting an itinerary. Excuse the lack of details. :D




This is first family trip to Taipei in 2011 (End of October).

Itinerary (8days 7 nite)

Day 1 (Sun) 

* arrive @ airport  
* apply youth travel card  
* check in @ Taipei Pighome Apartment 台北猪窝
* Dinner in Q square (京站百貨公司)
* Apply Easycard 
* Walk around in Q square

Day 2 (Mon)

* Check out & store luggage @ Taipei Pighome Apartment
* Train to Huelien 
*  Taroko Gorge, Shakadang trail, Nine tunnel trail etc
* Check in and stay at Ocean BnB 花蓮海景民宿被浪打到

Day 3 (Tues)

* Bike ride along the beach in the morning
* Check out . Train back to Taipei (3hrs ride)
* largest Underground Shopping Mall & along the streets

Day 4 (Wed)
* Taipei 101 台北101
* Danshui 淡水
* Fisherman's Wharf & Lover's Bridge
* Shilin Night Market

Day 5 (Thurs)
* Meet up with taxi driver @10am
* Yehliu Park 野柳地质公园
* Shifen 十分
* Jiufen 九分

Day 6 (Friday)
* CK Memorial Hall 國立中正紀念堂
* Longshan Temple 龍山寺
Hwahsi St Night Market 華西街觀光夜市
* Wu Fen Pu 五分埔 

Day 7 (Sat)

* Yau Ming Shan

Day 8 (Sun)

* Breakfast
* Fly out

EasyCard

What is Easycard?
is a 'touch-and-go' ticketing system for the Taipei Metro, bus services, designated car parks, stores and government agencies. 
can be used for years and its ultimate aim is to allow people to travel throughout Taiwan with only one card. 

Where to buy ?
*Information Counter in all Taipei Metro stations.
*Convenience stores (7-ELEVEN, FamilyMart, Hi-Life and OK)

Types of EasyCard (deposit-based card)
*Adult: Standard fare for the general public
*Student: For registered students only
*Concessionaire: Children eligible under relevant legislation to purchase children's tickets, seniors aged over 65 and persons registered as disabled.
* Taipei Pass: visitors can use it for unlimited rides on Taipei Metro and on Taipei City and New Taipei City buses.

注意

2.於台北捷運各車站設置悠遊卡售卡/加值機所購買之悠遊卡的可用金額為0元,完成購卡後,使用前請先加值。
3.如遺失無記名卡,恕無法辦理掛失。
4.票卡可用金額用盡,可再加值繼續使用;持卡人不再使用時,可退卡退費。
5.當票卡內可用金額不足以支付搭乘台北捷運或公車所需車資時,可由押金先代墊一次,最高代墊金額為60元。

Hi, I think around 1.5k per person (including flight tickets). Though it was many years ago so the cost may vary now.
